A bit about Sigma:

Jannatul Ferdous Sigma is the founder of Nerd Community, a managing partner at Synopsis Education and the CEO at RoboLab.

She is currently pursuing her bachelors in Mathematics from the University of Dhaka and is an alumni of Maple Leaf International School. She founded Nerd Community in 2015 after the completion of her A levels. It is the largest student community for English Medium students in Bangladesh which provides continuous peer to peer academic support. She participated in the YGAP Accelerator program in 2018. In 2017, Sigma also co-founded an international test preparation and university application centre, Synopsis Education, where she along with her team provides support to students to fulfill their dream of pursuing higher education abroad. She is passionate about education and community development, and has been working actively for the last 5 years in small and large projects and initiatives. She wants to establish her career in the Edutech business and development sector.

Seeam: What was the most early on important part of your resume that got you here?
Sigma: I didn’t use any resume for any work that I have done so far.

Sigma: Forrest Gump.

Sigma: I think it’s overthinking.

Sigma: My failure to express myself till my early teenage.

Sigma: “Sometimes life is going to hit you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith.”

Sigma: I’d advise them to have patience.

In 5 years I want to see myself as an Edutech entrepreneur and change the education system of Bangladesh.
